Sayulita, Mexico is a quaint little drinking town with a big surfing problem. A 40 minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast. Vibrant streets, incredible food, bars for days, music in the air, beach, sun, surf, boats, shops, and more tequila than there is water. We can't wait to take over this town with you!
And the best part? This week is the celebration of Dia de los Muertos a.k.a The Day of The Dead to celebrate and remember loved ones lost. Sayulita will be filled with candles, music and locals celebrating their loved ones. Which means you should book your hotel or vacation rental ASAP.
THINGS TO DO
Sayulita consists of five main streets, full of restaurants, shops, bars, music and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Have fun exploring this colorful little town!
The main attraction of Sayulita isn’t hard to find: it’s the beach. Calm in the morning while the fishermen are out and more crowded in the afternoon when the sun warms it up, it’s the perfect place to relax.
There are great spots in Sayulita where the water is calm and perfect for stand up paddle boarding. Lunazul and Wildmex are two great companies to rent a board and explore the bay.
Brick pizza ovens, awesome vibes, nicest staff, amazing food and drinks. This is also where we're having our Friday night welcome dinner!
Hands down, our favorite Mex food in town for casual tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and ceviche. We very seriously thought about asking them to cater our wedding. That good.
Allie + Sandro ate here with their wedding planner and it was incredible. Healthy, organic salads + tacos with bold flavors and the freshest smoothies.
Paletas are ice pops made from fresh fruit, liquors and every other flavor imaginable. We may or may not have stopped here daily.
For a more private beach, head south to the Playa de Los Muertos, which literally means Beach of the Dead. The reason for the name? The beach happens to be right next to a colorful cemetery with flags, flowers and candles to remember loved ones.
Allie's favorite boutique filled with the coolest gifts, cow skulls, blankets and treasures. They even offer macrame and pom pom workshops!
The most vibrant shop full of colorful accessories, bayadas (beach blankets) and accessories. Allie spent way too much time here. Sandro went to the beach.
A beautiful shop with dream catchers in every color imaginable. You can't miss them from the street.
The best place to learn is in Sayulita! Awesome instructors, friendly staff and the best location. Sign up here.

El Break Cafe is a very chill bar right on the beach and perfect for a cold beverage or light lunch.
Sayulita's craft beer garden serving artisan brew from all over Mexico.
Best Pastries in Sayulita. Perhaps the best chocolate brownie ever. The coffee beans are sourced from the neighboring state of Oaxaca. Definitely make this your coffee and breakfast stop.
Fresh, buttery, hot out of the oven Empanadas is amazing flavors. Inexpensive and as good as it gets, La Empanaderia is a tiny walk-up / take-out kind of spot.
Super fun bar that always plays live music. Great cocktails, good vibes.
Just a block from the beach you'll find a great indoor/outdoor restaurant with flavors from the Caribbean, Oaxaca, Puebla and Veracruz.
Our favorite beachfront bar serving fresh cocktails and awesome food that you can carry right to your beach towel.
Take a break from the Sayulita sun and make beautiful things. Spend a serene 4 hours working on your own macrame design and see your creativity come to life in the beautiful, traditional macrame wall hanging. Wednesdays and Saturdays 11:00am - 3:00pm.
Right on the beach, totally private, waves crashing and one hour for $20. We'll be going back here MANY times!
